Who can open a Southledger account?
Anyone 18 or older who lives in a country we serve. You'll verify your identity with a current Australian passport or driver licence before you can trade.
What is the recovery phrase, and why does it matter?
It's 12 words created in your browser when you sign up. It's the fastest way to reset a forgotten password. We never see it, so write it on paper and keep it somewhere safe and offline.
What happens if I lose my phrase?
Support can restore access after a new identity check and a 72-hour security hold, with sends paused and alerts sent to you. The phrase itself can't be recovered. Read more in the Help Centre.
Is crypto risky?
Yes. Prices can rise or fall sharply and you could lose money. Crypto isn't a bank deposit and isn't covered by the Financial Claims Scheme. Read our Risk Disclosure before you trade.
